Cheng Wing-yi used to be a salesperson of a skin care brand and she had not studied Engineering before. Yet, it did not undermine her determination to join the construction industry. Many of Wing-yi’s friends and the older members in her family work in the engineering or construction industry and they shared their experiences in the industry with Wing-yi. Her interest in the industry gradually grew. Meanwhile, she thought that the sales industry was not suitable for her and she would like to look for another professional career development. Introduced by her friends and supported by her family, she enrolled in a part-time safety supervisor programme. Working as a safety officer in construction sites, she is responsible for all safety matters and giving advice on work safety so as to minimise the risks of accidents in the workplace.
