Chan Ho attained 5 passes in the HKDSE Examination and intended to apply for the Higher Diploma Programme in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering offered by Vocational Training Council upon graduation. Yet, Chan Ho did not study Physics and was not admitted to the programme. Chan Ho then took up a job of customer service in a hotel and came across an opportunity to experience working at the airport through a short course. From such experience, he came to know about Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited and enrolled in its Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee (1-year Scheme). Chan Ho was promoted internally by the company to become an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic Trainee (Registered Apprentice) and recommended for admission to the Higher Diploma Programme in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Part-time) offered by Vocational Training Council.
